Expert witness services
Dr. Corsair has served as an expert witness for dental malpractice cases since 1982. He has reviewed cases related to alleged injury after dental implant surgery,alleged injury related to periodontal surgery and injury due to failure to properly treat periodontal disease. He has reviewed many cases over the years and has worked with attorneys on 10 cases in 2015 alone. The services include review of all documents, consultation with attorneys and court appearences. Dr. Corsair was part of the defense team that earned a defendants verdict in November 2015. Dr. Corsair has been referred to law firms by the defendants insurance company. In other cases law firms have contacted him directly because of his reputation as an outstanding expert or because he has worked with the firm before. Occasionally he has been retained by plaintiff's law firms.
Dr. Corsair has all of the required credentials of a dental expert. He is board certified, and has recently been recertified as a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He continues to practice this speciality which of course includes surgical placement of dental implants. He is currently an assistant clinical professor of periodontics at the SUNY in Stony Brook. Dr. Corsair has published 10 papers and written a book. He has presented lectures nationally including several presentations at the annual meeting of the Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Corsair was formerly the chief of the division of periodontics at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset and he was also the surgical coordinator for the implant fellowship program. He continues as a guest lecturer for the dental residents and implant fellows on topics related to implant complications and their prevention as well as esthetics. Dr. Corsair is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
